Christchurch -Sydney -Bangkok - Pranburi

Of course when you want to have an early start the kids decide to sleep in. But our kids never sleep until extremely late, so by just before 10am we had had breakfast, packed everything in the car and cleaned the motel room. Started our drive towards Christchurch which gave us a some spectacular last hours in NZ. Saw several dolphins right of the coastal road we drove on. They seemed to be having lots of fun which we enjoyed watching.  Stopped to look at some seals as well along the way. Went on a quick shopping in Christchurch before returning the rental car.
A very bumpy flight to Sydney where we spent an hour running around before of to Bangkok. Again the flights whet very well. Kids slept through most of the long flight which make life easier.
Arrived just after midnight and manage to get a taxi for our two hours drive to our first destination Pranburi. We thought we'd double checked that they had understood where we were going. But still after two hours the driver stopped and asked to have a look at the address again. 04 in the morning after 14 hours flight with small kids is not the best warm-up for being patient with a lost driver who can't be bothered to check the address before start driving for hours! Argh!! After another hour we finally found our hotel.  Checked in and waited for another hours to be the first to the breakfast. Cooled down in the pool. Jet lag make us ahead of time. Breakfast at 6am made us want lunch at 10! We had our first delicious Thai meal, so jummy!! And unbelievable how cheap everything is. Daniel and the kids took a siesta in our hotel room while Pernilla tried Thai massage (90 min for 300bath/75kr!!!).
Then we asked to get a ride to a beach with restaurants on. We ended up at a forest park on a beach without hardly any people and definitely no restaurants. I'd almost forgotten how people in Thailand nod, smile and make you believe they've understand exactly what you asked for when the haven't got a clue. We asked to be picked up in two hours and luckily  he understood and did exactly that. We had no problem spending the hours on the beach. So many crabs, fishes and strange animals in the 30 degree warm water can keep our kids entertained forever.
