Koh Tao

We're so happy when our travel company also stated that they love Koh Tao after less then 24 hour on the island. The crystal clear water and all the colourful fish that come up to you when snorkelling with a banana in your hand is special for both young and old. And the laid back tempo is a dream for every soul.
Had BBQed snapper for dinner which was beautiful!

Koh Samui - Koh Tao

Back to our favourite island Koh Tao today. We were very pleased that the storm they've been warning us about never reached us today. We got a nice and calm boat trip across from Samui to Tao.
Unfortunately another hotel this time due to fully booked at Sensi. But Regal Resort seem to be ok.
All afternoon our kids decided to stretch every single limit there is to stretch. Not the most pleasant evening during our trip.
If anyone want to borrow our kids when we get back, you're more then welcome!!!;-)

Koh Samui

Windy last day here on Koh Samui was spent on best family beach Choeng Mon.
Most delicious spare ribs and Thai mojitos was found at the most laid back and simple "restaurant" in Fisherman's Village in Bophut with seats for 12 and only paper plates and plastic glasses available. Love the simplicity of life!

Koh Samui

The day of laziness, monsoon rain and pizza night!

Koh Samui

Paradise Park offered great play with different animals of all kind. With fantastic view it was a very nice park, even if small, to spend a cloudy morning and lunch in.
Afternoon in the pool by the house was just what we could handle today. Spent the evening at the night market in Fisherman's Village in Buphut.

Koh Samui

After a full day on our favourite beach today we had dinner in Bophut. Then Daniel and Pernilla went into Chaweng while Anna and Uffe were kind and entertained the kids and put them to sleep.

Koh Samui

Spend a couple of hours on the best beach on Koh Samui for families so far; Choeng Mon. Best beach, valuable food at the restaurants, great shopping and not to crowded. IF! we ever come back to Koh Samui we will stay at this beach.
Had afternoon fruit of the seasons by the pool by the house before going to the Djungel Club for a swim and dinner with stunning view as background.

Koh Samui

Decided to check out the so highly ranked beach of Koh Samui; Chaweng. But what a disappointment. Not at all suitable for kids and very much more expensive restaurants which has lost most of the genuine Thai style and atmosphere. Everything is very European and for us it's not why we've come to Thailand. So Chaweng is nothing we recommend to anyone with kids or anyone that travel to Thailand to enjoy the genuine Thailand.
Went back to the house to swim and chill before heading to the other shopping mall where we found some sandals.
Had dinner at a crappy place along the main road. Never again.

Oliver has for the 7th day in a row been without diaper!!!! Such a good boy!

Koh Samui

So great to have Adolfssons company here. The kids are happier and we're very pleased to have good friends to share our last couple of weeks away together with.
Today started with swim in the pool, body combat and pharmacy to get something for Daniels painful ears that he has got from diving and swimming to much.
Then we sent to Bophuts beach for lunch, shopping, massage, more shopping, Dr Fish (you should all try having fish eating dead skin from your feet together with Anna if you want to laugh until your stomach hurts, hilarious!) and dinner on the beach rounded of another very good day.

Friday 15 February 2013

Koh Samui

Swim in the pool by the house before walking to the closest beach, Bophut. Checked out the shops along the way which was more then we could take in. The beach was not the nicest but the water did the job of cooling us down for the moment.
Spent the evening at the shopping mall Lotus since today was little cloudy with showers.
Not the best shopping unless you want to pimp your Iphone/Ipad.

Koh Tao - Koh Samui

Happy Valentin everyone!!
Went for a swim in the pool after breakfast. Thought we had plenty of time before our boat departure to Koh Samui. But when Daniel went to confirm our boat ticket we realized it was an hour earlier. So in just a couple of minutes we were checked out and sat in the taxi. But first a snake had to be chased out of the taxi. Exciting!!
Calm and nice boat trip to Koh Samui. Got to the house we've rented and jumped in the pool. Went to the market to eat lunch and to get fruit and groceries for the house. Then back to the house and swam a little more while waiting for Fam Adolfsson to arrive which they did eventually after a minor delay in Bangkok.
Pernilla had a long phone meeting with the new owners of Pergo.
Got some take away and beer and breezers to celebrate Valentine together with dear friends from Sweden. Plus the kids got extra gifts from Fam Persson. Highly appreciated! Both the pictures and what was in the gifts!! Thank you so much. You're just so thoughtful always!!

Koh Tao

Very bad patents today:-( Rented two mopeds for a day to see more of the island. No helmets, the discipline in traffic is equal to zero and this island hasn't got many maintained roads plus it either go steep up or right down. But we went for it.
Shark viewing at Shark Bay was to Daniel's relief cancelled due to rough sea.
Drove through very interesting areas before heading towards a recommended lookout. Spectacular view even if we didn't dare to drive all the way to the summit. Simply to steep for us.
This afternoon it was Pernillas turn to have a private lesson in Muay Thai. Felt heavy, old and out of shape:-( But it's still so much fun!

Koh Tao

Muay Thai!
We're already planning for Muay Thai to go live in Kävlinge in one way or another when we get back. There's nothing that give you as good physical and mental training as MT.
Who's up for it?!
We just have a gym owner to convince too! ;-)

Koh Tao

Long tail boat out to Banana Rock to snorkel for a couple of hours. Unbelievable how close Nemo's friends came to us when we had fruit in our hand. Water clear as the water we drink at home.
Lunch close to our hotel. Pernilla felt brave and got a haircut. Value for money as she cut it very short!! I want my long hair back!!
All afternoon by the pool and in a little covered sunbed was just what our skin needed to avoid getting burned.
We caught the reason for why our bananas on our balcony seem to disappear.
Muay Thai training with a private master for Daniel tonight made him see double and get blood taste in his mouth. But no matter what you still love this sport.

Koh Tao

By far the best place to have a holiday in Thailand according to us. Stay at Sensi Paradise Beach Hotel and the package is complete!
Today was all about snorkelling trying to find Nemo. We found many colourful fish, but no Nemo. Searching will continue tomorrow.
As you can see Oliver is now jumping into the pool without being pushed by big brother. And he even seem to enjoy it. Never thought that would ever happen!
On our way to the restaurant for dinner we found this 30cm gecko cuty!!

Sunday 10 February 2013

Chomphun - Koh Tao

Breakfast on the beach then swim and sunbath until taking the speed boat for about 2 hours to Koh Tao. We were about the only ones not being sea sick. But it almost. Add us sick just listening to it:-(
Arrived to a sunny beautiful Koh Tao which so far is our favourite place. Can strongly recommend this island. Lots of colourful fish and corals from 10 m from the beach so Kevin only want to be in his snorkel gear and in the water.
Dinner on the beach and pancake with healthy banana and nutella!

Pranburi - Chumphon

Realized today that when the manager of the hotel had been smiling, nodding and saying yes to arranging our trip to Koh Tao he hadn't book anything but reserved seats for us at a bus leaving from Hua Hin at 11pm!! 11 at night plus some hours on the bus before a few hours on the boat. He has apparently never travelled with children. We said no thanks and got things sorted ourselves. Got on a bus to Chomphun where we paid for 3 seats but got zero!! There was no ferry until next morning so had to arrange a bungalow for the night. Nice location but veeeery low standard.

Wednesday 6 February 2013

Pranburi

After breakfast we walked to the same beach as yesterday. Kevin loves the water and can't get enough of wave surfing.
Lunch at the same place as yesterday on the beach. Again with very tasty food.
Got some more locally picked fresh fruit on our way back to the hotel. Had to stop halfway to cool down in the water and check out some kite surfers. Back at the hotel we went for another swim in the pool.
Dinner at the hotel where we're staying.
Our days has really calmed down here in Thailand. Nothing else we can do in this heat. Just relax, swim, eat fantastic food and ENJOY!
