What we initially thought was a sprained or broken foot proved to be erysipelas. We were hospitalized on Saturday when our otherwise very active Oliver was pale, feverish and did not let anyone come near his foot which was swollen and red as a tomato. Went to the emergency room and quickly came under treatment with antibiotics straight into the bloodstream. Two first days he was still feverish and sore in the foot and not at all the same. Then he has become more alert, but still red and sore in his foot. They continues to carry out tests to find out what it is. To be continued ..
