Snails and worms

Kevin’s new hobby is to pick collect snails and worms and what ever disgusting insects he come across. When has them all in a bucket he feed them with grass and shower them with water. And sometimes he crushes them against the ground. We’re trying to talk him into collecting them and feeding and showering them, but to skip the crushing part. But this is how the dialog goes:
Pernilla: What are you doing?
Kevin: Crush them so they die.
Pernilla: But you can’t do that, it’s sorry for the animals and it hurts on the animals.
Kevin: No it’s not hurting.
Pernilla: How do you know it’s not hurting?
Kevin: They don’t scream!

Afternoon with grandma and Klas

Kevin got picked up by grandma from day-care today. And for the first time since last summer it was 20+ degree´s so we spent all afternoon outdoor. And even when mum picked me up and we went home we didn't want to go inside. So dinner was served on the grass in the garden. Really nice to finally be able to be outdoor without jackets.

Talketive

Kevin has now taken control of out phone at home. He’s very talkative and tonight he spent at least 10 min talking to every member of the Persson family. And he could have gone on for much longer if it wasn’t because the clock was over 8pm and it was past bedtime.
The wound he has under his eye came today at day-care after he and a friend fenced a little too wild with the knives and forks. Must have hurt like crazy! Think he at least has learnt a lesson….

Grandma back from Malaga, Spain

Where's the baby?

Today Kevin is home with Daniel. I got a message this morning from Daniel that the first thing Kevin said when he woke up and came in to Daniel was –Where’s the baby??
How cute!! I melted when I read the message. We’re trying to talk about the baby in a positive way and trying not to mention is too often when Kevin isn’t starting the conversation himself. But we’re a little nervous about the reaction when Kevin will get his little brother/sister. We’ve heard so many different stories about friends kids who has gone from being the only child to being two. And we really want it to be something positive for Kevin, even if we realize that he in some moments will see the new born as a person who steals the attention from him. But so far, and especially with the comment this morning, Kevin seems to be just curious, positive and protective over his brother/sister to come! Let’s cross our fingers that it’ll stay that way.

A day without plans

Holiday today which means no work, no stress, no musts and for once in my lifetime I had nothing planned! It felt strange but really good. I wouldn’t want all holidays and weekend days to be without plans, but once in a while would do me good.
Daniel was up at 3am to go to Germany to fill up our beer-storage.
Kevin and I started the day with a long bath together. There’s not very much space for Kevin anymore since I’m filling out most of the bathtub. But he insists that mum and the baby join him, so in we jump!
Then my dear friend that I know from my vaulting time, Jenny, joined us for a long relaxing breakfast. Great to catch up with friends that you don’t see as often as you want to.
When she was on her way out of the door, Kevin’s friend Alma called and asked if Kevin wanted to play. Of course he wanted to. The following hours they ran around the garden, jumping on the trampoline, swinging in the swing, drank home-made fruit smoothie, throwing balls and toys all around the place…. Daniel got back from Germany with allot of beer, so now you better feel like a beer when visiting us coz that’s most likely what we’ll be serving. But he went straight out on the golf course.
Alma, Anna, Kevin and I enjoyed a simple bruchetta-lunch together before they went home and Kevin finally could relax enough to snooze for an hour. Daniel got back just in time to mow the lawn while I cleaned the house.
Then I started to prepare the dinner with the use of my new meat thermometer that I got from my dad last week. We were going to have fillet of beef. I sat the thermometer on beef and medium rear….. and 40 min later it beeped and I could proudly serve the best fillet I’ve ever made! My meat thermometer is by far my new favourite tool in the kitchen. Just in time for dinner Chrille and Klas came and ate with us before parking themselves in front of the TV to watch World Championship in Ice-Hockey Sweden against Czech Republic. We lost :o(

BBQ down by the river

It has been crappy weather all weekend so when Sunday afternoon turned out to be ok, we made quick plans to have a BBQ pick nick down by the river. We found a sheltered spot where we had a cosy afternoon together.

Fixing day with Lina & Jakob

Enjoyed a breakfast together with bread from the bakery before I took Kevin to Army-kids training at the gym. There was only three kids there today so we could spend allot of time with each of them which they liked. What kid doesn’t like to get much attention?!. Then we went straight to Lena and Håkan because I wanted to show Lena my drawings of jewelleries that I liked. Since she's a star at making jewelleries I wanted to see if she could do them for me. And she seemed happy to take on the challenge, so now I'm looking forward to see the result.
Then we enjoyed a snooze together before driving to Lina and Jakob to help them fix their washing-/bath-room in the cellar. It went well and we could later enjoy a wonderful Sheppard’s Pay that Lina had done.
Above you can see Daniel and Jakob in action, but you can also see the drink they´re drinking while working. And as always before dinner, Kevin helps out setting the table.

"Vår ruset"-race in Malmö

Me and my dear colleagues ran/walked 5km in Malmö today; the ”Vår Ruset”. I’ve never been so frustrated coz the only thing I wanted was to run and be in the top 10, but I got to walk nice and slow because my baby in my tummy complained as soon as I walked to fast! Damn, I’ll never do a race like this again unless I can give 100%. But it was very nice socially to walk with my colleagues at Pergo and to enjoy a pick nick afterwards.

Breakfast date and Kids-party

Started the day with a breakfast date with Fam Henberg-Johansson. Always really nice to catch up with these positive people. It’s too long between the dates with this busy family. But we were well deserved this enjoyable breakfast on one of the most beautiful days this spring. But the boys couldn’t sit still for more then 4sec after the last peace of bread roll was swallowed, so we moved outdoor to the trampoline and the footballs where the dad’s and boys had a ball. But not even Vivvi could resist to try if her gymnastic side was still there. And as you can see- she’s still going strong! ;o)

Then we polished the garden by mowing the lawn, pulling up some weeds from the flower beds and the lawn, moving out the garden furniture’s and watering my new herbs!
The whole family allowed our selves a 40min snooze with Kevin before it was time for the next activity this weekend; Alma’s 3rd birthday garden party! As it was a beautiful day and we had a very nice afternoon celebrating Alma. But by the time we got home, I and Kevin had a bath, read a story and said goodnight to Kevin, updated this website at the same time as I’m lifting some weights in between while Daniel is playing bandy I’ve promised myself that this kind of weekend will never happen again. I haven’t been able to load the batteries at all. And knowing how hysterical it is at work it’s going to be an interesting coming week. I’m glad I have a large storage of energy, but weekends need to be used to load the batteries in a better way then this. Hope you've all been better at loading your bateries!

Another hectic day

Daniel went to work early today and I woke up earlier then Kevin so I prepared breakfast just in time for when he got up. We had a nice breakfast together before meeting up with my friend and colleague to be Camilla and her son Simon at Tirups Herbfarm. It was the first time for me visiting this place, but for sure not the last. The coolest playground for kids, the best cake and coffee in their café and plenty of herbs in the plant shop. We enjoyed it all today! And with me home I got rosemary, mint and basil. As you can see they got straight down in the ground/ window when we got home!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We spend some time at home and Daniel and Kevin snoozed while I vacuumed and washed the floors. Then it was time for me and Kevin to drive to congratulate mu cousin, Tobbe, on his 30th birthday! It’s not often we see each other, but always nice to catch up.

We got home just in time for dinner with Karolina and Martin. An old football friend to Daniel and his wife. Martin BBQed the best file I’ve had in a very long time which we all ate plenty of. Karolina had cakes with her. And not just a plain cake, but 4 different kinds of cakes. So if we were all full after dinner, we couldn’t move after cake-dessert! I’m glad I’m not on any diet!
