Overwhelmed

I'm overwhelmed by everyone who has sent messages and flowers after dad passed away. Thank you so much. It means allot days like these where my mind can't think of anything else but how unfair life can be......
I fell like knocking people who complain over stupid small details!
My boys spent the day creating small cards and letters to grandad. They want to give these to him when we go and look at him. Kevin also want to give him a sudoko book & a pen so he doesn't get bored up in heaven. Last time my boys visited grandad at hospital he taught Kevin the principals in soduko.
My boys really want to go and look at grandad after his death. This had been a tought decision to make and if you ask for advice, they all give you different answers. Some says; NO, you can't do that to your children. And some says; Of course they should! It helps them understand.
After considering both alternative and talking to the boys who was certain they both wanted to visit grandad even now after his death and the supportive dialog I had with my aunt Lena Olsson I decided I would let them.

20160124

Worst day of my life.
In the middle of supporting Kevin during his wrestling competition in Klippan i got the message that dad was unconscious. Luckily my aunt Lena and her family was there cheering as well and could drive me to hospital. That was the longest drive I've ever experienced. I knew and I felt something was very wrong.
I got to be with my superman-dad his last hours before he couldn't fight the battle of his lung cancer which has spread rabidly to all his organs and spine during the last months. Life is not fair!!!
RIP dad.

Fun with snow

Finally a cold and clear day to spend some time in the snow.
The kids were happy to spend the night and morning with grandma and grandpa in Malmö who spent some hours outdoor before we picked them up to go to grandpa at hospital.
We're privileged to have grandparents who can and want to spend time with our kids. Can't thank you enough💜
At the hospital the kids get to ask all kind of questions they're thinking about around cancer, hospital, equipment and today also about sudoko. The world from a kids eyes are so black and white. It's pretty amazing to listen to.
Of course you want to keep everything sad and negative away from your kids. But I've learnt lately that involving your kids even in sicknesses and hospitals can prepare them better for what will come than hiding it from them. And so far they seem cool about following grandpa's cancer from bad to worse.....

10 years wedding anniversary

10 years ago in New Zealand up in the mountains next to Queenstown with only the helicopter pilot, wedding officiant, photographer, Lynn & Glenn,  some bubble & cheese & crackers we got married in the best possible way for us without anyone's knowledge back home.
Today Daniel surprised me with a whole day together. First together with the kids at the best breakfast buffet at Grand Hotel. Kids loved it and so did we!
Then kids went to grandparents in Malmö and we went to Helsingborg to just walk around, shopping and coffee breaks before heading back to Lund for a dinner and drinks to die for at MEAT!
Thanking my husband for a well organised anniversary day!

Ice skating

It's not easy to get out and do outdoor activities with our typical wet weather. But then when it suddenly gets cold it's great to see that both our boys want nothing but be outdoor. So with teachers with a passion for the kids who made a ice skating rink outside working hours the boys only wanted to go ice skating. Hot chocolate and sandwiches made our day at the school. I thought it would last max an hours as skating is nothing they've been practising allot. But after five!  hours I had to force them to come home for some dinner. But right after dinner- in the dark- we went for another couple of hours!! So much fun!

Surprise from overseas

On the same day we got two surprise gifts to pick up. Curious we hurried to the post office.
From USA, friend that we think about alloy but unfortunately don't get to see as often anymore; Marielle and Doug, had sent us wonderful Patriots supporter gear. We loved it all and it fitted us all well!
From NZ, a dear friend that we're still in contact with after 15 years and we care much about even if we don't get to meet as often as we'd like to; Caron, sent us NZ chocolate and a NZ calendar.
Thank you so very much! Happy to hear from you and we can't wait for next time we meet again!

Baking pizza

As it's impossible for us to find out good xmas gifts to all our family members we've started since a few years back to give them an activity that we do together. This year it was time to bake pizza at a cozy local farm in a stone oven with only the best ingredients to choose from to top your pizza with.
It's a superb activity when you're a mix of old and young.
