What a summerday

Started the day with porridge testing at a marketing company in Lund. Oliver was within the criteria of the wanted test group so we were invited thanks to Lena who works there and gave me a hint that they needed kids to test on. Everyone who knows Oliver also knows that he rarely says no to anything eatable. So all the products got good feedback from Oliver;-)
Then I had to do what I hate the most; do Ikea alone with kids. Thanks to Lena who insisted Kevin could stay with her I only had to do Ikea with one child. Because we've found mice in our carport storage we now have to put EVERYTHING we don't want eaten by mice into plastic boxes!
Then we went to play with Maja and her family. Except that Kevin and Maja thought it was a good idea to shower the entire stable including the roof it went really well and I even got to work one horse out on the flower filled fields around the farm.
I unpacked my big shopping bag today. Filled with new clothes only for me:-)
We invited family Ericsson to join us for a long walk to pick cornflowers. A perfect way to enjoy the hottest and most beautiful evening in a very long time.
Cleaning out the carport took several hours and we've destroyed at least two well established mouse nests. Now it's almost midnight and time for bed. Goodnight!

Camping in Simrishamn

The day after Midsummer was a very slow day for most of us. A walk to Simrishamn harbour for an ice-cream, pizza at the camp-site and some fishing in the evening was all we could handle today. Except one crazy fellow; Richard who was stupid enough to promise to take a bath in the 12 degree’s water. You impressed us all Richard!!

Midsummer 2011 in Simrishamn

Midsummer with typical Midsummer weather. At noon the kids helped out to get the Midsummer pole dressed in flowers and later in the afternoon it was time for us to dance around the pole and to play some game. At first Kevin didn’t want to join. But when it was finally time for parents to race with their kids in a wheelbarrow Kevin suddenly wanted to be part of the game. And lucky thing his father isn’t too keen on these kinds of games I was more then willing to compete!! Poor Kevin had the ride of his life!! But then the fathers had to have a battle as well. Even though the weather wasn’t at its best we managed to eat dinner outdoor. Because it was too cold we had to have strawberries and coffee…. and one or two snaps in family Katz tent. Thanks for another great Midsummer along the south coast together with family Persson, Katz and Nilsson!!

Camping in Simrishamn

Finally installed! And it has started to rain - typically Midsummer weather! As long as it's not raining during Midsummer dinner I can handle some rain today. The kids are having a blast and the adults are enjoying some relaxation!

Creative with concrete

After a morning with the neighbour girl we went to Åkarp to Isak and his sister and mother. The boys were very active together while Vivvi and I tried to be creative with concrete. Will present the result when it's dry and I've put it in its right environment.
Had a nice evening with the company of granddad.

Friends are fun

Since I was told I wasn't good enough company for Kevin it must have been a perfect day for Kevin today. First the neighbour girl knocked on the door and wanted to play, then Maja and Malva came by and wanted to play. And if that wasn't enough we had promised to pick Alma up from day-care right after lunch. With friends around all day I could tell Kevin was enjoying himself fully. Pleasure to see! Plus I could vacuum clean and prepare lunch, dinner and camping food for coming camping weekend without feeling guilty for not being 100% focused on the kids.

A selfish weekend

On our way back from Trelleborg with the campervan we dropped the kids of at grandma and grandpa in Malmö. They were going to stay the night as Daniel and I were going to go with friends to a restaurant in Lund. I got the campervan cleaned out in no time and Daniel carried all the fire wood we'd bought last week to where it's suppose to be stored. I even got time for a bath before we biked to the train station and joined Åsa and Micke. Dinner at Stäket and then an after drink at Lundia before heading home for a nights sleep without anyone calling or screaming for your attention - total happiness as it was so long ago since we last had 24 hours where we didn't have to care for anyone else but ourselves. Selfish? Hell yes!! Woke up just before 9 on Sunday. Went outdoor for some gardening. Then Daniel took on the big job of trimming our hedge while I went to a friend and did some serious web-shopping. On top of this selfish weekend we were invited to dinner in Furulund. So not even that meal we had to worry about. Thanks to all our fantastic family members who help out when needed the most!! Highly appreciated!!

Camping Trelleborg

The rest of the week in Trelleborg was very relaxing. Daniels parents came and bbqed and kept Daniel and the kids company while I went to the restaurant on the camping with 20 colleagues from work who wanted to thank of Camilla who has been handling my job with success while I've been on maternity leave. Had a fantastic evening!
During daytime when Daniel were working I tried to keep the boys busy with all sorts of things. Visiting the beach couple of times, the playground several times and tried to just be as well which isn't something that two young boys are very good at:-)
We met up with two other colleagues two different nights and had great times. Especially the boys loved the company of someone else. Kevin even told me one day that he didn't want to spend time with me anymore and said that dad was much more fun. OK, was heart-breaking to hear but I guess we both have had enough of each other. We have been spending a whole year together and I have to admit that my energy and fantasy isn't where it has been. I cant wait to combine my waking hours with both work AND play with the kids.
But a week away from home camping has been a fun and needed change. Now it's home and wash everything before packing everything again for a traditional long Midsummer weekend camping in Simrishamn.

Camping in Trelleborg

First day in Trelleborg with our campervan. Dad went to work early. But since he's working in Trelleborg he shortened his drive in the morning with more then 30min one way so he got a little sleep-in today. Me and the boys did all sorts of things to try to make the day go by. Walked down to the waterfront, painted on paper and on rocks we found on the beach and flew with Kevin's dragon!
When Daniel got home we bbqed and walked to a colleague of mine for a wonderful cup of coffee and a nice chat!

Playdate with neighbour girl

Today we had a fantastic summer day. Dad was away helping our dear friend Chrille rolling out his new grass. In the meantime we spent time with the neighbour girl. Some time was spent hunting snails and worms in their garden while some time was spent on our side of the fence painting with watercolours. Started controlled and on paper but ended up with body paint!! I wish I could be a child too sometime and join them with their crazy ideas!
Had a nice bbq with Lina, Jakob and Matheus at our place later in the evening. We finally managed to move the big trampoline to the other side of the garden. Thanks for your help Lina and Jakob. But most of all thanks for this great evening together!

Sofie´s examination

Today was the big day for Sofie as it was time for he examination. In the afternoon we congratulated her in Lund as she ran out of the school with her classmates. Then a fantastic party followed at her home in Furulund. If only she had half as fun as the rest of us did, then she had a night of her life! The edited photo is the canvas picture we gave her as a present. She seemed pleased with the gift and it came up on her wall right away.
BUT, after we'd gone home and put the kids and ourselves to sleep the party took a sad turn. Klas fell and broke his arm. But stubborn as he is, he wasn't going to go to hospital to get it checked up. So it wasn't until around noon the day after he was is such bad pain that he finally went to the hospital and got it confirmed that his arm was broken. So now he has a summer in silence and without moving his arm. Could have been a more fun summer for him. Wish him a good and fast recovery!

Collection box

Started the day with a yearly meeting with one of Kevin's day-care teachers regarding Kevin. And it was with a warm feeling of pride I was informed what a good boy he is. A great friend, well behaved, well developed vocabulary and a fantastic physical co-ordination. That he's testing the rules at home suddenly wasn't such a big deal. He knows how to behave and how to treat others when we're not there! Makes all the work and fights at home worth while! Love my little big boy so much!
I also spent some hours at work with the girl who has been my stand-in while I've been on maternity leave. Got the last couple of updates before going live in about 7 weeks. On my way in to work I stopped by Daniel at his job. He surprised me with this mp3 books. Will make the long commuting to and from work less boring. Thank you honey!

Swedish National Day

Spent most of this years National Day in the car back home from Västervik. Took 5 hours and went really well thanks to the portable dvd which Klasen was kind and lent us.
We got invited to dinner in Furulund on our way down  south. It was so warm and humid that we didn't even bother going home and unpack first. Went straight to Furulund and right in to the pool.
After nice dinner Klasen was "kind" and let Oliver help him self to some dessert; chocolate pudding. You can see in the picture how that went!!!

Västervik day 4

This is the view Anna and I had from the spa at Gränsö Castle. Was just as tropical and nice as it looks. We spent a couple of hours there to reload our batteries.
