Waiting

I’m sorry I haven’t been writing for some days. I’m still waiting for the birth to get started and it has made me very frustrated and tired of it all. I could never dream how much it would have an negative effect on me that the birth is now 8 days delayed. Of course you always know that the date you get is estimated and the baby can come both earlier and later. But since Kevin started on the estimated date and was born the day after I’ve prepared myself for timing around the same +/- 1-2 days. Now its 8 days since he should have been born and I hate the situation. First of all I feel I’ve been big and not been able to physically do what I’m normally capable of for long enough now = frustrating , secondly I feel I’m destroying Daniel and Kevin’s holiday by making them hang around home where we’re close to Lund at all time instead of doing the normal trips and sleepovers which we love doing, thirdly I know that the baby isn’t getting smaller in there and I was struggling to get Kevin out which was 4 kg big, fourthly I’m worrying if there’s something wrong with the baby……. and so on, and so on, and so on…. I know its silly thoughts most of them, but all the waiting gives me so much time to think that it’s making me crazy.

Today I was playing with Kevin on the trampoline (another try to get the birth started!!) before we did some gardening together while Daniel worked on the roof on the garden house.
Then we went to mum and Klas to cool down in the pool before going back home to have Taco for dinner and then going for a long walk enjoying the nice weather this evening.

NuggZ showroom

Before....................................................................................After 3 hours

My company NuggZ are still in progress and there has been spent several hours with preparing marketing material and paperwork. But most fun is it to work with the showroom and warehouse. Woke up with allot of energy today and decided to get around with laying Pergo floor in the showroom and trying to get it organized. I was pleased with what I got done today, but there’s still a long way to go. But since the weekend 25-26 of Sep is to 95% all set for the kick-off sale I’m feeling save I’ll be ready until then.
And by laying floor I was hoping the baby would decide to come out a little sooner. But the only thing that happened was that we were all very tired tonight and even the little baby seemed to be exhausted and wasn’t starting anything at all.

Visitors from the States

Our wonderful friends from the States; Marielle and Doug were in Sweden for a week. We were privileged to be able to spend some time with them. We try to stay in contact but it’s always more fun to catch up live. We enjoyed some meals together at mum and Klas place, cooled down in their pool and enjoyed a cup of coffee at our place. Me, Daniel and Kevin enjoyed your stay and company and are already missing you and looking forward to next time we get to see you. Maybe in your new house?!
We were all hoping they would get to see a new born Berg junior, but nopp that never happened!
Thank You so very much for the Teva´s, baseball gear and t-shirts!!

Simon, Welcome to the world!!

Today we went to Kågeröd to have brunch with our dear friends Maria and Robban who has got a baby boy; Simon! Congratulations and well done! He was the cutest I’ve seen in a long time and it was like they had done nothing else but being parents.
This time we promised each other that it can not go so long time until we meet again. And this time it’s not something we just say, this time is going to be followed. I’m just going to deliver a baby first then I’ll be chasing these wonderful people down to do things together. I’ve missed the good old days when we did all sorts of crazy things together.

Sorry to bring this up again, but today it was time for another progress of the No 2-thing for Kevin! Today he did it on the toilet. I think this is the biggest progress for his parents because we both realise how disgusting it was to clean the potty. Two days again Kevin wouldn’t even think about doing it anywhere else but in a diaper, and now he’s doing it on the toilet!! He IS a big boy now and definitely ready to become a big brother!!

No 2 in the potty - finally

Was invited to grandma and Klas today! And who can say no! Seems like we’re spending most our days there right now. And I guess we are. At least in the afternoons when the heat is unbearable at home. Plus Kevin loves to play in the pool with Klas, it cools us all down and most important: I get to feel weightless while in the pool (which shouldn’t be underestimated with +20kg!!!)
Was served a wonderful BBQ.

BUT the biggest progress today was that Kevin finally wanted to do nr 2 in the potty. Ever since he was sick in his stomach 2 summers ago, the nr 2 has been a very tough thing for him. Don’t want to do it unless someone he knows well is around to hold him and support him because it’s often painful. But he’s 3½ years old and we’ve wanted nothing else but to get him to do it on the potty instead of the diaper. But he’s refused – until today!! He say he had to do nr 2, Daniel suggested he did it on the potty and surprisingly he said OK and went with Daniel to the potty and did it without any problems. Yes, he got his favourite ice-cream afterwards! Such a good boy he is!
But I can’t stop laughing because it’s funny what can make parents days a success!!! Haha….

We manage to have breakfast together as a family before Daniel was of to work. Kevin and I did a great job getting our wooden deck, which we cleaned the other day, painted in oil. Kevin was really helpful and he did very well until the girl next door walked by and told him she and her father was going for a walk. Then Kevin wanted to come along as well. Luckily he was allowed to come along and the day was saved for him! They went away for at least on hour and I could finish the painting without interruptions.
Then it was time to go the grandma and Klas to get our hair cut and to cool down in the pool.
Then we picked up dad and went to Fam Adolfsson who served a delicious BBQ and always so friendly and social evening. Kevin had a great time playing with the rest of the kids and it felt as if he forgot he had his parent with him.

Famous ice-cream in Bjärred

After a long day in the garden with over 28 degree’s we went to Bjärred to get some well deserved ice-cream from the famous ice-cream bar by the waterfront. The best thing about this ice-cream is that you never get disappointed. It’s so good and the surroundings make it even more enjoyable. The routine is always to buy the ice-cream first, then go for a walk by the water or out on the bridge while eating (walking and eating ice-cream at the same time with a 3 year old is a challenge. But not challenge enough to make it a reason for breaking our routine!) One thing has been added to the routine since we got Kevin. That is to stop by the playground on our way back to the car.

Bye for now

Thanks dear colleagues for making my last day at work for a while so special. They had arranged so that we had lunch together. They had bought a very nice flower/goodies-arrangement.
And later we enjoyed homemade strawberry ice-cream!! I knew it was going to be a tough day emotionally. Saying good bye isn’t my strongest quality, but pretending I’m only saying goodbye for a couple of weeks vacation made it easier for the moment.
But when I got home and but the arrangement on the table I got emotional again. I have such a great job with so very friendly colleagues and I know I’ll miss the people and place tremendously.

Cooling down

This summer doesn’t seem to have any end to spoiling us with perfect weather and long light evenings. But it get’s hot during the days. And if you have a few days until birth and hate sand between your toes, there’s no better place for cooling down then at grandma and Klas! The closeness, the pool and the hospitality is always there. So we don’t see ant reason for going anywhere else when we need to cool down. Today we brought berries which we enjoyed with cream – yammy!
-------------------------------------------------------------------

We’re counting the days now until the little brother to Kevin will decide to come out. Therefore I finished the preparation with the baby bed, the pram and the bag to bring to the hospital. I know I won’t be in control of anything on his way out, so the few things I can control I want to make sure to have full control of.

Toys for boys

I guess you have to be a boy to understand the fun of below! I certainly can't understand how machines of all sorts can be so interesting. But I had a very hard time to get Kevin with me home tonight because of all these stupid machines!!

Extreme heat

Our favourite activity seems to be bringing bread rolls to people without notice! But so far it's been so much appreciated so why not take the advantage of waking up early in the morning and go by the bakery and surprise someone with fresh bread in the morning? And today it was time again to surprise Fam Persson. But we had to give them 5 min to wake up first because we got there a little too early then their plan to get up. Ups! But we got welcomes in and had a fantastic breakfast together.
Then we went home to start cleaning our wooden deck. I and Kevin took care of the deck while Daniel went to buy windows and a door to our garden shed. Kevin got bored after 2 min so I did it myself while he discovered the activity of climbing our apple tree’s. First he asked if he was allowed to climb in the tree (good boy he is!). Since climbing tree’s was the best thing I knew when I was a child (and still do) I had to tell him it was perfectly ok to climb our tree’s. Without him noticing I was looking at him I could follow a goal-orientated 3-year-old for 30 min figuring out how to climb the tree. I could tell he was about to give up several times, but he was too curious about this new challenge he'd been given the allowance to do. In the end he climbed all the way up and all the way down successfully. You can just imagine his smile when he came running and told me he'd been climbing the tree!!! It's hard to realize that your little son has become a big boy busy discovering new challenges in life.
We had to take a break and drive to mum and Klas swimming pool to cool down for an hour before going back home. Daniel continued with the garden shed while Kevin played with Matilda, the girl next door.
From one second to another later in the evening a thunder with lightning went loose. The extreme heat we've had this weekend has its negative sides as well. But it cleared the air for the night, which I guess we were all very pleased about.

Råbocka camping

Today we decided to take the chance and bring breakfast bread rolls to the Ericsson family who has been camping at Råbocka camping by Ängelholm for the last week. We did surprise them when just showing up without any notice. Always fun to see the reaction when visiting without notice. Alma and Kevin were so happy to see each other. They are such a couple at day-care and you could really tell that they were happy to see each other. Kevin hardly had time to eat any breakfast. He rather spends the time with Alma! After a late breakfast we decided the heat was unbearable at the camping so we went down to the waterfront and spent the day there. The breeze and sort of cooling water was what saved us from boiling!
After a fantastic day with the Eriksson’s we went back home and did some more work with the garden shed.

The NuggZ day!!!

Today is the big day when an important envelope came in my post-box at home. The company certificate that my company is now officially registered!!! Some of you know that I’ve been busy preparing “things” lately. But until I got this certificate I haven’t been able to tell you too much about it. But as it’s now official, you better prepare yourself for only hearing about shoes from me from now on. :o) No it’s hopefully not going to be that bad. But I’m dying to get started and I’m sure I’ve made sure to stay busy with giving birth to no 2 at the same time as getting a company started. But no-one can convince me that challenges and hard work has ever made your life boring.

In short my company is called NuggZ of Scandinavia and will be distributing NuggZ shoes throughout Scandinavia. NuggZ shoes are pure NZ sheepskin and cow skin boots! 100% natural material and bliss for your feet at the same time as being very trendy.
And yes, all my family, friends, friends to my friends, colleagues and those lucky to live in my neighbourhood will during August get the chance to get the first glance and first chance to purchase and make sure your family’s feet will get the best comfort at the same time as being extremely trendy with a pair of original Ugg-boots for a price you’ll probably never find anywhere else. So keep your eyes and ears open for a NuggZ invitation!!!!

The domain .se is being worked on and will hopefully soon be up and running, but feel free to visit

And don't forget to help me spread the word about NuggZ!!!
